A major rock festival was held in the Milwaukee area 50 years ago; three weeks before Woodstock. Led Zeppelin and Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood) were headliners for 15 other incredible bands.

European Rock & Roll historians refer to it, yet it’s mostly forgotten locally. This website hopes to bring it some long overdue attention. We’ve compiled bootleg audio, videosphotos, posters & program, and press coverage for you to browse through so you hopefully get a feeling for the Festival and the Summer of ’69. A great place to start to learn about the history of the Festival is a great, recent article from The Milwaukee Journal Times.

We’d love to hear about your experiences from way back when, so please comment here to share your memories of this of this important moment in Milwaukee music history.
